Built in the early 20th century, this abandoned hotel looks back on quite a checkered history. Once the best hotel in a small town in the Erzgebirge region of Germany, it had been turned into the office building of a hardware manufacturer by the beginning of World War II. During the war, the former luxury hotel was used as a military hospital.
After the war, massive mining operations were taken up by a German-Soviet mining company, by which the hotel was probably used, but there is no specific information regarding the further use.
Rumors however are saying that parts of the hotel were used as an office by the local branch of the KGB...
